Orla is one of the only celebrities that I look up to. You see, I'm only sixteen, but I'm still in awe at how young she looks! When I first saw her on Mistresses I thought she was too young to be categorised as "thirty-something", because she only looks about 25-ish. But, my point being, that she is an amazing actress, and to age as gracefully as she has would be an honour. Not everyone looks 25 when they're 47!

I have this really funny book: "The Concise Illustrators Reference Figures" by Chartwell Books, Inc (ISBN: 078580515X) that has Orla Brady in a variety of poses! It's from the late 80s or early 90s, so the styling is really weird.

Apologies to the person who does this site. If this were an official site then maybe someone could gripe about any info that wasn't kept up to minute. To complain when someone does an un-official site as a courtesy is being a pill. Do a search on Orla Brady's movies at Amazon if you must know the latest and don't slap someone's wrist on their guestbook. I appreciate the work and time and wish others weren't such whiners.

Hello, ladies and gentlmen. Roisin, I would like to ask you something. Is Ireland appears, like I dream about it? Is it so beautyful? It's woods, lakes, fields, shores, women and men, pubs and ale in them? IMy dream for 5 years was and is: to visit and setle in to Ireland, to meet a woman of my life, and to die old there. Why only 6 years? That is so, because I never thought about Ireland till one day, when I heard one song. I, actually don't remember it's name, but this song was so beautyful! Then I started to think of Ireland and it's culture, I've started to find some information about celts, ireland at all. It was when I was 13 years old. Now if I see interesting CD with your (I mean Irish or Celtic) music, I'm trying to find ways to buy it. I like your culture. It is so interesting, amazing and mistiryous. I just want to hear all from the Irish man or woman. Please answer somehow. It would be better if you'll answer through e-mail. Thank you very and very much! Cencerily yours, Evgeny! Good luck and health!

Hi everyone, I have been thinking and has Orla ever thought of trying to apply for a role in a soap opera like All My Children,General Hospital or Young and The Restless I think she would be very good and would get her alot of exposure,I think she would be very good and it would be doing something totally different,I suggest this because we in the USA hardly ever get to see Orla at work and I think it would very much fun and interesting Vicki

Hello everyone annd welcome to Roisin you are so lucky that you have seen Servants I wish I could,I would suggest that if you would like to see it again to contact the BBC UK and tell them to put it out onto dvd, recently there was a movie the BBC came out with called North and South but was only on region 2 and many American viewers wanted to see so someone started a petition and sent to the BBC UK and they did put it out...so just be patient and write letters! it works! one good thing I have found out is that your hugely popular Proof is coming to the USA next year and I cant wait to see that take care Vicki

Hi,it is nice seeing Orla in more Tv productions here in the USA,But I recently found out that Atia was Caesars niece and not his sister and was disappointed that ABC gave Orla such a puney role and HBO is giving their Atia played by Polly Walker a much bigger role with servants and the works but am still buying the dvd when it comes out, becuase i love Orla's work and anything that has to do with Greek and Roman mythologies and their related histories,i personally hope we see Orla in more of these types of roles...i will really look forward to seeing them..and whatever else she does...by the way did a google search and found out that Buena Vista is releasing this unto dvd soon take care all Vicki

Hi Orla,Lorna,Manuel amd all you other guestbook signers,1.to Lorna about the Leprechauns and if the people back there ever saw her in it they would not let her back in the country she was just teasing! and buy the way I have that movie and I love every minute of it I like Orla doing comedy especially in Nip/Tuck Christian Troy,oh she was good there and funny I loved every minute of it,as far as Servants and what do I think about it well I can not say because It has not been released here in the USA yet but am hoping PBS's Masterpiece Theatre will pick it up for their fall and winter schedule it looks very good and I have yet to see Fogbound,Proof, and many of her other good movies,Thank God I got Wuthering Heights, and Manuel I do so agree with you about she looked great in The Luzhin Defence just wish they would have given her a bigger part don't you? I personally would like to see her in a remake of Anna Karenina with James Purefoy as Vronsky and Cirian Hinds as Karenin.....but right now I am mostly looking forward to seeing Empire this November I heard that it was going to be 8 episodes and now it is down to 6 who knows huh? Just wondering- what does everyone else think should have been the outcome of Servants? I think that it would have been good if, while the men were in Cumberland, Mrs. Ryan goes slightly mad because she misses Mr. Jarvis so much, and tries to kill herself, or something like that, but someone finds her and she writes another letter and leaves it in Mr. Jarvis' room, so when he comes back he finds it, reads it, and falls in love with her too because he missed her too when he was away!

A very nice site you have here. Just wanted to say that I first saw Orla in Pure Wickedness, and thought she was a fabulous actress; I was at a point in my life where I could relate to much of what was happening to her in that role and her performance moved me greatly. She's also one of the most stunning women I have ever seen. My opinion has only increased after seeing more of her work, and I thought she was just ravishing as the crooked lawyer in The Debt (in my opinion the most beautiful she's ever looked), and the ruthless art dealer in Hustle. More of these roles please.

Hi, great new look to the site! My favourite film is A Love Divided, but my favourite role Orla's been in as Servants- I loved her as Flora Ryan. The last episode was screened the day before G.C.S.E.s started, so my friend and I taped it and took it to school to watch between exams, which put us in a really good mood for the next exam! (except that we were shouting at the screen at Mrs. Ryan to open the letter from Mr. Jarvis, and when a teacher looked in, she thought we'd gone completely insane!).

Also I think the film team of Merchant and Ivory would love to have you in one of their movies. Also I think you would be great playing along such greats as Michelle Pfieffer, Anthony Hopkins, Andie MacDowell, Rufus Sewell, Hugh Grant, Hugh Dancy, Damien Lewis etc.. I would particularly enjoy seeing you in a romantic comedy with Rufus Sewell!

Here's an obscure reference for real Orla Brady fans... "The Illustrator's Figure Reference Manual," published in 1987 by Bloomsbury in the UK and Chartwell Books in the US, is a large hardcover volume containing over 4000 photographs of ten models in various costumes and poses, for artists to use when they need to draw a certain pose. Orla is one of the most frequently used models, and the only one of them who seems to be able to express any emotion. The book is now out of print, but probably available in many libraries and used book stores.

I bought "The magical legend of the Leprechauns" a while ago on DVD without knowing it. I just bought it because I love Ireland, fairytales and Romantic stories. I saw the movie this weekend and I love it. It simply has everything I love. Saw miss Brady in Wuthering Heights before but she never looked this beautiful. Don't mean to sound like a typical "I'm in love with my idol" - fan. I studied medieval literature and culture (which explains maybe my taste) and I think she is the perfect woman to fit in classics and remarkable roles. I want to buy "The Wuthering Heights" on DVD or video, but it doesn't seem to be available. Can anyone help?

I think that Orla brady is a great actress. When she died this week on Family Law I was crying. She played the part so well. I hope to see her on T.V. more. She can really make a part come to life, and her accent is beautiful too. Truly a great Actress......

I'm just curious if anyone knows about why Orla Brady just got killed of the show Family Law. It was in today's episode (Jan. 14). If anyone knows please e-mail me.... sugar_lady49@hotmail.com Thanks. I am really curious. Alex P.S. It was a very emotional show, even though she was not really able to develop her character that much...

I first saw Orla in 'Pure Wickedness' with my favourite actor David Morrissey, and was so impressed by her acting/ screen presence. I taped 'A Love Divided' a few years ago on it's first U.K screening, but for some reason or other didn't get around to watching it until this weekend! Orla was brilliant as Sheila, such a strong character, and the story very emotional, and pehaps most important of all,it had you caring about the characters. Hope Orla does well in 'Family Law' which I've never seen. A great tribute to a great actress!

Hello again! I worked on the CBS show Family Law again this week. Orla was working both days I was there. It looks like she's settled in very nicely for the work she is doing. The show revolves around an attorneys office in Santa Monica, California that handles law cases on family issues. The premiere episode for the new season will be this Monday, September 24th at 10pm on the CBS Network here in the States. Check your local listings to make sure of the time. By the way this was Episode number 5 of the new season and I worked as a juror.

I am trying to find Orla Brady's birth day, month, and year. Am also trying to find more biographical material, for I'm writing a paperback about freethinkers and she might be a non-believer rather than a believer.

Hello everyone! I just ran across this site searching for Orla material. I work as a background actor or "movie extra" as we call it here in the States. Orla has just started work as an attorney on the hit CBS Television show "Family Law". She is acting opposite Tony Danza, Kathleen Quinlan, and Dixie Carter. I got to see her in action this past Wednesday on the set over at Sony Pictures Studio in Los Angeles. She worked a really hard day of 16 hours and I was really impressed watching her. I fell in love with that accent too! ;) This episode will air starting sometime in late August or early September in the States on the CBS TV Network.

I saw Orla Brady in A Love Divided at the Kennedy Center on May 23rd. I was so impressed with the quality of this film, and I heard she was to appear in person at the second showing that coming Saturday, that I brought two friends on the 27th and saw it again. They loved it too! There are very few movies that I would even think of seeing twice--especially in the same week! Orla and her co-star, Liam Cunningham, were just wonderful in this thought-provoking film of religious ideas versus personal conviction. Orla gave a little talk about the background of the film and graciously answered questions afterwards. I got to talk to her a little bit after the film and found her very personable and kind. She is indded a lovely lady. I would love to see her in other films. I hope A Love Divided gets a wide release in the United States because it is a terrific film; it contains excellent acting and an interesting (and true!) story. Anyone who enjoys Irish movies, and any serious foreign cinema, should view this wonderful film. Looking forward to seeing Orla Brady in other films!

Hey, went to the film festival showing of "A Love Divided" at the Kennedy Center in DC on 5/27. I enjoyed the movie and thought the acting was superb. Orla Brady showed and did an intro to the movie and a question and answer session. She was beautiful and personable... as pretty in person as she is on screen.

I first saw Orla Brady in Wuthering Heights on Masterpiece Theatre. I was so impressed by her performance, I purchased the video. She was sensational and I thought to myself; here is a lady that can act! Then I saw her in A Love Divided, again I wasn't disappointed. Hope to see her next project really soon.
